EGL has developed for both plant pest management and animal pest management. Plant Pest Management EGL’s application for plant pest management has been used both in the field and in the office. The application assists officers with monitoring, notifications and recording of plant infestations and control activities. Built using ArcGIS technology, the solution provides regional councils with information on plant pests and enables more effective response to plant infestation and the ability to completely finish a job on site by reducing follow-up tasks in the office. Animal Pest Management EGL’s field application for animal pest management is primarily used for possum monitoring. Built using ArcGIS technology, the solution provides regional councils with information on catch data, underlying properties and enables quick mapping and automated reporting. The animal pest management application analyses land cover, operational strata and possum habitat and calculates trap line requirements and automates allocation of trap lines based on standard protocols.The software can support monitoring of other species, such as rooks, ferrets, stoats and rabbits.
