XPLvision

XPLvision provides visualisation and time based comparison for spatial data in a browser based interface. While initially developed for image data, it works with any spatial data type.

The user friendly application allows you to easily overlay different images and compare them using a slider control. This feature is especially effective for comparison of aerial or satellite imagery between different time slices.

Organisations can use XPLvision to present and showcase spatial data. The eCommerce component of the application allows selection of either raw data or processed clipped data for distribution or purchase.

XPLvision provides the following key features:

  • User friendly and intuitive interface to multiple spatial datasets
  • Visualisation of spatial datasets
  • Comparison of datasets using a slider bar
  • E-commerce component for purchase or distribution of data.

XPLvision is developed using ESRI’s ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Server Image Extension technology.

Viewing features available include:

  • Scalability – fully scalable, basic viewing through to full eCommerce solutions are possible
  • Viewing of imagery - allows for rapid display, including zoom and pan, of all types of imagery in a variety formats
  • Overlaying other data – allows for data to be layered, either other imagery of the same area or vector data
  • Comparison of overlaid imagery – ability to 'swipe' and 'blend' an image over another image of the same area, this tool allows the visual comparison of images from different dates or surveys
  • Flexible zoom, and measure tools:
    • Zoom to a typed in scale
    • Zoom by a drawn polygon
    • Zoom by to a reselected scale on a zoom bar
    • Zoom to an address or point of interest
    • Measure length and area of shapes.

Selecting and extracting features available include:

  • Select by extent – allow the user to select imagery or vector data based on the current extent displayed in the viewer
  • Select by drag box – tools which allow the user to drag a box to select imagery or vector data based on the extent of the box
  • Select by polygon – allows the selection of imagery or vector data that is within a pre-defined polygon, such as an image footprint
  • Extraction – functionality to extract the data and via a delivery mechanism, such as a Shopping Cart or predefined permissions, deliver the data via FTP or DVD.
